Remnants

Remnants is a free (currently digital) newspaper for Glasgow's Merchant City co-created by Panel and Voices of Experience.

It pays attention to how women’s contributions have been rendered in/visible through the formation and use of urban space in Glasgow’s Merchant City and beyond.   A series of written and illustrated commissions are interwoven with contributions from Tiffany Boyle, Jade Halbert, Caitlin MacLeod, Rhona Warwick Paterson, Laura Richmond and Louise Welsh and conversations between Fiona Sinclair with Mairi Laverty, Adele Patrick with Akiko Kobayashi, Kirsteen Borland with Heather Claridge and Anne Duff with Cathy Houston.

You can view and download the newspaper here: https://www.flipsnack.com/panelglasgow/remnants_newspaper.htmlRemnants

An event and physical launch/distribution of the paper is planned for late 2020/early 2021.

Remnents was commissioned by Civic Room and a part of their 2019 curated programme 'Of Lovely Tyrants and Invisible Women', featuring four solo exhibitions by artists, Lauren Printy Currie, Ashanti Harris, Thulani Rachia and Marija Nemčenko and associated newspaper publication.

The project was generously supported by Historic Environment Scotland
